Opening Day and We Already Have Great Reviews

Tonight is our official opening!

A lot of hard work has gone into getting the feel of the place just right. The feel we were aiming for is a semi-private club. All indications are that we achieved that goal.

A number of people dropped by and reviewed us during pre-opening. Here's just a few:

The guys at TorontoGolfNuts said "This place is going to be 'Hot'" ... "What a freakin blast! Those sims are great." and "Just got back from an hour of fun at Innergolf. What a GREAT PLACE!!!!".

Fairway Stevie at OntGolf.ca says Downtown Toronto gets a quality golf experience ... "This is not a commerical, it is an endorsement. If you have an hour to spare, throw your clubs in the trunk and head over to Inner Golf before it gets too busy. "

And Mark Evans from Blog mavens B5Media writes "I went down to Inner Golf on Friday for a test run. If you’re into golf, it’s very cool."

Thanks everyone for your feedback and support. We are looking forward to a great launch and exciting weeks ahead.

The Simulators Are Here!

InnerGolf's simulators are installed and already becoming quite busy.

It was an amazing process getting to this point. As usual everything has been more complicated and more expensive that we planned but the result is amazing and very exciting! Each simulator is a large space with lots of room to swing a club. The golf play is incredibly realistic, even down to the frustrating hacks to get a ball out of deep rough.

Customer response has been great. We had our first repeat golfers today. They brought in friends to play: two threesomes - guys in one sim with the girls in the other. The girls picked a really tricky first course but still had fun. The guys pounded away on a wide open desert course and had a great time!

People have also been enjoying the Infamous 18 course. This simualtor course has some of the craziest and most challenging holes in the world. Drawn from the famous calendar series of the same name, the holes are beautiful and terrifying. They really challenge your mind. All of a sudden a 178 yard par 3 becomes much harder when the green is surrounded by waterfalls and is 20' below you. Yet, it has already been conquered ... well, survived, is probably a better word. After this, you will never fear water again.

We look forward to having you down to InnerGolf to try them out.

About Golf - The Indoor Golf Specialists

InnerGolf's simulators come from AboutGolf, the creators of Microsoft Golf and other leading PC golf games. This expertise is behind the unparalleled beauty and accuracy of InnerGolf's simulators.

AboutGolf's incredible graphics and golf engines have been combined with the most sensitive ball tracking system available to produce incredible accuracy? How accurate? Well, if you hit your drives 250 yards (sure you do ;-) the drive would be accurate within 4/1ooths of a degree. Essentially perfect.

So, if you slice the ball out there, you will slice in here. But the amazing analytics package will help you figure out why. And if that doesn't work, there's always golf lessons.

Come in and check it out.

Indoor Golf - A better way to learn to golf

InnerGolf's golf simulators are not just a great way to play golf. They are also a great tool to learn to play golf. Here are some reasons why indoor golf is a better way to learn golf:

  1. No Audience - Golf is mostly mental. A swing happens too quickly to actively think it through. So ... we do all our thinking before we swing! The more we think, the more tense we get. And nothing makes me more nervous than an audience. When you are playing on our simulators there is no one watching you (other than your partners). And no rush. So relax and be the best you can be.
  2. No Crowding - Beginning golfers take longer to play golf. This causes two problems on real courses that don't occur indoors. It slows down good players and it stresses new players out. The more stressed you are, the worse you play. At InnerGolf, take as long as you like on each hole. No one will be pushing you to hurry up. Just relax and enjoy yourself.
  3. Instant Feedback - How are you supposed to get better if you don't know what you are doing right or wrong? InnerGolf's golf simulators give you instant feedback on every swing combined with incredibly accurate simulation. You can also see your swing or record it to share with one of our golf pros as part of your training plan.
  4. Playing Analysis - We can even record your entire round and analyze how you are attacking the course. Are you managing it correctly? Did you take strokes on the course that you could have saved? These insights are critical to breaking those plateaus at 100, 90, 80 and beyond.
  5. On Course Practice - One of the keys to improving your game is to practice the parts of your game that are not working. This is very hard to do at a driving range. And most of us do not have access to a private golf course. Well now you do! At InnerGolf, you can repeat the same shot as many times as you want - critical to improving those approach shots.
  6. Advanced Shots - Learn to punch, draw or fade the ball. Our golf simulators provide instant feedback that shows you exactly what your club did through each shot. So now, you can reproduce those critical situation shots.
  7. Convenient Lessons - Learn all year round by taking golf lessons when it is convenient to you - downtown, at night, in the morning, whenever it suits you.
We look forward to playing with you and helping you become the best golfer you can be.

InnerGolf's Golf Ladder: A new way to golf

InnerGolf has created a new way to play golf: the InnerGolf golf ladder.

The golf ladder is ideal for players who want hone the game and have fun but can't get away for a few hours at a time. Golf ladder games are short, competitive and as serious as you want to make them. Trash talk is encouraged.

Each game lasts an hour so it can easily fit into any part of your day. We are open from 7am to 11pm. If you have a membership, games can be booked up to 2 weeks ahead of time.

Games are match play format. It doesn't matter how many strokes you take, it's how many holes you win that counts. This is the part I like best about match play on a simulator. Go for it!! If you put the ball in the water or the woods, just concede the hole and go immediately to the next hole! No waiting! But a great drive can really set you up well!

Golf Ladder memberships are a great deal. For $49 you get up to 4 golf ladder games per month. To keep your position on the ladder, you must accept or make at least two challenges per month (more on this in the rules below). Your ladder membership allows you to play up to 4 ladder games per month! That's $12.25 a game!

Here are the basic rules of the ladder:

1. Players can challenge anyone on the ladder.
2. If the challenger wins, the players switch places. Otherwise they stay in the same place.
3. A losing challenger cannot rechallenge that player for 1 months unless the higher ranked player agrees.
4. If you decline a challenge or fail to show up, you will default the match NOTE: the match will be deducted from your ladder alottment or charged to your credit card.
5. Players should arrive 15 minutes before the match and be ready to play at the scheduled time.
6. Each match begins with 10 minutes of warm up. Players not arriving by the end of that period will be asessed a penalty of 1 hole per minute. Players not arriving by 15 minutes after the schedules dtart will default the match.
7. Mulligans are not allowed.
8. Putting settings are determined by the person being challenged.
9. This is fun folks Management reserves the right to remove disruptive, abusive or ill-mannered players from the ladder or the entire facility in our absolute discretion.
10. Winners are responsible for posting results using the online form.
11. Have a great time!

Bringing Virtual Golf to Downtown Toronto

InnerGolf is about to be born. We will be open in just a few weeks and are already beginning to book tee off times and sign up new members. Our 6000 square foot facility is almost ready to go and our staff hired!

Some time ago, my partners and I began to look for the best virtual golf simulator technology we could find. As avid golfers living downtown, we realized that it was becoming harder and harder for us to practice and play our sport. After all, there are really only three months a year in Toronto that you can fit in an after work round. But more than that, the traffic and the loss of downtown practice facilities made working on your game an impossibility for most players. Ideally, we needed more golf facilities within 15 minutes of King and Bay. Not going to happen.

Virtual golf was the answer. InnerGolf's golf simulators allow downtown golfers to play all year round, in the morning, at night and as time permits. It's not a replacement for outdoor golf, which we all still love. It is completely different way to enjoy golf.

Golf simulators also allow you to play golf in whole new ways. For example, we will be introducing a golf ladder. Our golf ladder is a great new way to fit golf into your life. It works just like a squash ladder. You play head to head match play games against other members of our club that are about the same level as you. The winner moves up the ladder and the loser moves down. Each game lasts only an hour so you can fit it into your day at lunch or some other convenient time.

Personally, I am very competitive and look forward to playing golf ladder play at lost this year to hone my game and have a lot of fun. The golf ladder will run year round and is great example of a new way to play golf in downtonw Toronto.
